8.5mm of low resistance goodness. A little pricey to immediately justify since I just got new (but lousy OEM) plug wires installed for free. Magnecor wanted just over $200. A little shopping can yield about $140. But of course, lousy me couldn't catch a break. New image of the Magnecor plug wire install posted.

BEFORE:
The stock plug wires started failing at roughly 42,000 miles. By 45,000, I replaced them with the well recommended Magnecor 8.5mm wires. Not only do they look cool, but they'll effectively last the life of the car. Here's what the stock wires look like:

AFTER:
With just a bit of finagling, I fit the Magnecors into the exact same spot as the stock wires, giving the fitting a really professional look, at least as professional as I can get them.

Cost Analysis

I Spent:
$180 dollars, $167 plus $13 tax.

When:
April 1998

Expenses:
None. I strung the wires on the stock looms, which are now breaking. I will probably buy some stock looms soon and then somehow reinforce them before reinstalling them. I'm not sure how much they will cost, but I'll contact Roebuck Mazda and find out.
This is yet another Time I've been a bonehead about my purchase. I could have saved myself about 25 bucks if I had ordered through SP Motorsports and received them in the same amount of Time as the local shop who ordered them. Or I could have talked to Eddie Wu about getting them cheap. But noooo, I had to be soooo impatient that I went to local shop who eventually ended up gouging me for 180 after somehow I was under the impression I could get them for $130. What an idiot I was. Fortunately, if I never have to buy cables again, then the price difference isn't going to bother me in the long run.
