17:15 - Just to let everyone know, the first SCPOC meet went smoothly. Four of us met at a local fast food diner to caravan down to San Clemente for the meet (Amer, John & Misty, Robert, and myself). We waited for a fifth person who unfortunately never showed up. The 1st meet itself was set to start at 6 pm.
18:00 - We drove down in good fashion, where we met up with Chris, Ken (Beavis), and Alex at the Carrows parking lot. As we were posing for a photo op, Ron showed up and showed us pictures of his "Probestar" project (V-8 Northstar engine + 1st gen Probe = Mid engine rear drive 300hp badboy). After taking a lot of pictures, we sat down to dinner and swapped various stories, from the next meet to accidents to tickets to performance mods. Lots of hood popping before and after dinner as well.
21:20 - After loitering around outside for another hour or so, we all broke it up and made our ways back.
The next meeting will hopefully be at a dyno shop where we can find out exactly what an auto PGT (stock AND modded) will do. Afterwards, the drag strip is next.
We also discussed Thunderhill briefly. Looks like no one is quite ready to drive the distance for that meet. I guess driving 1000 miles for BG is an east coast phenomenon.
