Just a quick note; there are lots more pics available than are shown here, but I just grabbed the best and most representative for the sake of fast loading.
10:00 - I met up with SCPOC veteran Robert Enloe(with better half Jennifer) and new members Michael Mulgrew(also with a Jennifer) and Richard Hall. After some brief chit chat, we headed down to San Clemente for the meet.
10:40 - We parked in an open lot and met up with Howard Chu and his brother Eugene and their ladies. Roger Hsu showed up shortly and told us how he missed his San Diego caravan with members Alex Applegate and Chris Ashton. In fact, we actually saw Alex and Chris drive by twice before they finally spotted us. We lined up for some hood popping, decibel metering (courtesy of Roger), and picture taking before we headed off to eat. After our meal there was more show and tell and I traded Alex some illicit goods for money (okokok, a stock CD head unit for 55 bucks). A fire truck crew even stopped by to ask some questions.
12:30 - We hit the road to Lake Elsinore. It's actually quite a fun drive if you're not stuck behind a slow car because in the 30 mile stretch to the lake I recall only a single break in the two lane highway for passing. Absolutely frustrating. Anyway, about halfway into the drive we pulled over for a photo op.
13:30? - Finally we made it down to the lakeside. There was nowhere decent to park for a photo op so we just hung out and talked shop for a couple of hours. After a couple more pictures and a group pitstop at a gas station ($1.499 for 92 unleaded. sheesh..) we finally broke up and headed our separate ways.
15:30? - Richard Hall, Roger Hsu, and I took the newly opened toll road home. Thanks Richard, I owe you a drink, BTW. Anyway, Richard is a madman and managed to snap some pictures of Roger and me. At 90 miles an hour. Actually looking through the viewfinder (something I wouldn't have the guts to do). Damn, his CCD camera is fast...
